Krory and Miranda: Blood Moon Ch. 1
It was a beautiful night, one which most people would enjoy. The night was so
clear, millions of stars could be seen dancing in the sky. However, it was also the night
of a Lunar Eclipse, when the moon turns a very dark orange that it could be considered
red. This troubled Komui because for unknown reasons Akuma became more powerful on such
nights. “The innocence however, also becomes more powerful, but not as much as an Akuma,”
he explains, “which is why tonight everyone will need to be on their guard more than
usual.” Miranda looked around nervously everyone was more powerful than she was, with her
innocence and what it could do now she felt like a sitting duck in battle. “Also, every
once in a while innocence can gain a new power while the Lunar Eclipse is going on. But
as far as we know, it will only last for the one night.” Komui explained. At this news
Miranda became a little more hopeful. But only a little. According to Komui the Black
Order was going to be strained while fighting around the world. No one was to engage in
battle with the Akuma alone, now more than ever.
Komui told them that he would assign groups of people of at least 6 exorcists and
12 finders. “Each of these groups will be going to known Akuma hubs in Europe and
Northern Africa. Okay, Group One will be; Allen, Kanda, Lenalee, Marie, General Cross,
and General Cloud. You all will be going to the pyramids of Giza in Egypt, with the Group
A finders led by Gregory Smith.” Miranda looked around nervously again, there were only
enough people for about 3 groups. She was hoping to be in the same group as a certain
exorcist. Little did she know that he was thinking the same thing. Komui continued “Group
Two shall be; General Tiedoll, Chaoji, Bookman, Lavi, Krory, and Miranda. You all will be
heading for Rome, Italy with the Group C finders led by…” Komui’s last words faded as
Miranda’s heart soared.
Krory immediately began to blush a little. Miranda and I in the same group! he
thought excitedly. Even though they were going on a dangerous mission he couldn’t help
but feel hopeful, this had been the chance he was waiting for! On this mission, he
planned to get Miranda alone and tell her how he felt. Ever since he’d met her on Anita’s
ship his heart had begun to beat like a butterfly’s wings when he saw her. He tried to
tell her almost a month before today how he felt, but came to her room to hear the most
beautiful voice coming from inside, which had made him even more nervous than he actually
was. So instead he gave her eleven white roses with a deep red one in the middle, and a
little poem he’d come up with describing her, and her beautiful voice through his eyes.
Lost in his daydream Krory didn’t return his attention back to Komui until he said, “…
everyone prepare yourself and meet down in the docks in about half an hour to start the
mission.”
Krory stood there for a few more seconds than necessary and went to his room to
prepare, finding Eliade waiting for there for him. At first he sat there astonished, but
as he blinked he saw that it was a trick being played by his eyes. “I can’t believe I
still haven’t gotten over her yet. But why am I seeing her so soon before the mission?
Could it mean something terrible is about to happen?” He sighed and hoped it was nothing,
finally going into his room to prepare.
Miranda went into her room to grab her innocence and some apples as a snack. As
she did so she passed her desk where the beautiful white and red roses sat. She looked at
them fondly remembering how they mysteriously appeared outside her door with a small poem:
Shining brighter than the sun,
You are one who puts the moon
And stars to shame.
With a voice sweeter than a summer
Breeze over a field of flowers.
It wasn’t signed by anyone, but then again that was probably the point. She looked at
them one more time before she left for her mission, whishing she knew who’d given them to
her.
Everyone was preparing to board the boats to go to their assigned duties. Krory
and Miranda were about to board with Lavi when Lenalee came over, she gave them all hugs
and told them to be safe (or at least as safe as possible). Lavi went first, Krory
followed, Miranda was in the process of boarding when she tripped and lost her balance
almost falling into the canal but thankfully Krory caught her before she fell into the
water. “Th…thank…thankyousomuch.” She said while blushing uncontrollably. “It was no
problem.” Krory looked at her with all his love for her in his eyes. Miranda noticed his
staring and blushed even harder attempting to hide as she took a seat between Lavi and
Krory.
The trip to Rome didn’t take too long, it was a peaceful ride, but for Miranda it
was a little chilly seeing as how autumn was upon them. Krory had noticed and gave her
his cloak to help her keep warm, she smiled gratefully at him. His heart warmed at her
smile, and all thoughts of the Eliade vision vanished. After what felt like a few seconds
they docked and everyone exited off onto the coast of Italy, a few miles from Rome.
Everyone had their innocence at the ready in case of a sudden Akuma attack. Even
the finders took out their trapping equipment. The Exorcists especially were tense
everyone was on their guard preparing for an attack, but strangely…none came. This came
as a brief relief to Krory knowing that Miranda wouldn’t be harmed for now. They were
less than a mile from the city’s gate, and it was suspiciously quiet.
